A TEENAGER has revealed how she dropped more than 60 kilos in an incredible weight loss journey, after a comment was made about her looking 10 years older than her actual age.

Lizeth Barretto, 18 from Pittsburg, California now weighs a healthy 63kg and feels “proud of her body”.

Lizeth recalls how she came from an obese family, but that she “began to gain weight during [her] freshman year of high school after meeting [her] boyfriend.”

The following years were difficult, where she then lost a family member, and as she turned to food for comfort, her weight crept up to 121kg.

What meal delivery services offer what? Here is rundown.

“I didn’t feel like myself, I felt lost. I also felt very uncomfortable in myself and not my age; not only was it making me look older, but I felt a lot older,” she said.

“I was eating two to three fast food meals a day on top of a load of unhealthy snacks. Even when I tried dieting nothing seemed to work.”

Finally, at the age of 17, she was told that she looked like a 27-year-old, and the comment was a “wake up call”.

Instead of taking offence, she used it as motivation to shed 60kg, and feels much better about her lifestyle and body.

She recalls: “I decided that I didn’t want something temporary just to lose a few pounds, I wanted a completely new lifestyle to build up my body and start seeing it as a temple – something I need to care for and fuel daily.”

Offering advice to new dieters, she suggests starting off slowly, as that was how her journey began.

Lizeth explains: “I started doing cardio and doing what my body could handle,” and she then started weightlifting a few months later.

She said that this regime “completely transformed” her figure, and now her work out includes 20 minutes of cardio, and around an hour of weights.

Since dropping from a 3XL dress size to an XS, Lizeth is finally happy with her weight: “Now I feel very proud of my body and what it can do, I receive a lot of comments from people amazed at how my body was able to transform.”

“There’s no need to diet, just change your lifestyle. Take action and never give up!”
