While the internet is currently playing “Are they? Aren’t they?” when it comes to actor Suki Waterhouse and director Darren Aronofsky’s love life, Waterhouse is focusing on more important things – self love.

The 26-year-old has revealed to Refinery 29 that she has found herself brokenhearted on Valentine’s Day in the past, and says it can make you feel “miserable and alone”.

But her cure is better than any box set of rom-coms or Haigh's chocolates – it involves carbs and a bathtub.

"I have a three-hour bath and eat a lot of cereal in the bath,” she told the publication.

"I love making coffee grain and honey masks and covering my body with it to exfoliate. It's quite bad for cleaning up after."

If this is not the best formula for a broken heart, we don’t know what is.

A serotonin-boosting cereal can boost even the suckiest of splits while a bath can do wonders for your overall health. (Not to mention all the glowing benefits of an anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial cleanse.)

Scientists from the University of South Australia have found that having a cool bath before bed can help you sleep better. While other research has indicated that a 20-minute soak can lower blood sugar, relieve sore joints and improve bowel movements. More interestingly, a study last year revealed that a relaxing bath can burns as many calories as a 30-minute workout.

So if plans go south this Valentine’s Day, run a bath and whip up this bircher muesli.
